weekends Isla Verde really comes alive. Beach lovers
stream in from every corner of the city and from every
major hotel in the area to get some sun, splash in the
sea, picnic or party with family and friends, play beach
volleyball, walk along the sandy shores, or simply have

Isla Verde is also only five
minutes from the Luis Munoz Marin San Juan International Airport.
The Luis Muñoz Marín San Juan International Airport,
which many people mistakenly think is located in the City
of San Juan, is actually located in Isla Verde, City of
Carolina.
For almost four decades, the airport
was given the unofficial name, "Isla Verde
International Airport" both by locals and visitors.
Residents of Isla Verde also tend to downplay the fact
that the area is part of Carolina since culturally and
socially Isla Verde is considered to be in the San Juan
Metro area.
