Children and youngsters keep fond memories of all the
adventures experienced in places they visit, just like
adults do. That's why several hotels offer
entertainment, camps, and childcare areas for their
young guests. Here is a list of hotels featuring
enjoyable children's clubs.

Iguana Kids' Club at the Westin Río Mar Hotel
Beach Resort & Spa, 6000 Río Mar Blvd., Palmer
(787-888-6000 ext. 6255). Club Iguana sports an
entertainment program designed for kids between the
ages of 4 and 12. Activities include gathering
seashells, building sandcastles, basic tennis and
basketball clinics, iguana feeding sessions,
handicrafts, pool and beach games, electronic games,
and much more. A full day at the club is from 9:00
a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and lunch is included. There are
also three-hour packages (9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or
12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.) Club Iguana Night Club (from
5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.) offers electronic games,
handicrafts, language lessons, karaoke, talent shows,
and several board games. Space is limited so advance
reservations are recommended.
Teenagers (13 to 17 years old) have the Río Mar X-Perience!,
an entertainment area where they can shoot pool, play
Xbox® video games, watch TV or movies, or listen to
music while they meet and mingle with people their own
age. Open from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. For more

V.I.C. Very Important Children, at the Caribe
Hilton Hotel, San Gerónimo grounds, (787-721-0303),
and also at the Hilton Ponce Golf & Resort, 1150
Caribe Ave., Suite 01, (787-296-7676 ext. 5301.) Both
hotels hold a summer camp during June and July as well
as nonsupervised activities including ping-pong games,
basketball, bingo, hoppityhop, scavenger hunts, and
others. Upon mentioning kids when checking in at the
hotel, parents get a gift certificate redeemable at
certain hotel shops and a children's menu discount
(breakfast is free and meals are 50% off when
accompanied by an adult. All meals for kids five and
under are free.) This program is for kids 5 to 12

The Kids Club at the El San Juan Hotel &
Casino, 6063 Isla Verde Ave., (787-791-1000 ext. 1585)
is for kids 5 to 10 years old. Open from 10:00 a.m. to
4:00 p.m., its activities include pool and beach
games, bingo, board games, handicrafts, and sports.
Lunch is included. Reservations are required at least
one day in advance. Call Wes Gibson, guest activities
manager at the hotel.

Camp Coquí, at the El Conquistador Hotel, 1000
Conquistador Ave., Fajardo (787-863-1000 ext. 7106)
hosts a program that includes beach Olympics,
scavenger hunts, hikes, handicrafts, golf lessons,
movies, electronic games, and a trip to Palomino-a
small island nearby-where youngsters can enjoy a kids'
area and a pool. Camp hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m. and there's also a half-day session. Camp Coquí
is recommended for kids 4 to 13 years of age. Call
Manuel Meléndez at the hotel's guest activities
division.

Ritz Kids at the Ritz Carlton, 6961 Los
Gobernadores Ave. (787-253-1700 ext. 4190), offers a
supervised program for kids 5 to 12 years old. You can
make reservations for the entire day (Monday through
Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., lunch included) or
half a day (Monday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to
12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.) There's Kids
Night Out for evening entertainment (Fridays,
Saturdays, and Sundays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.)
Reservations 24 hours in advance are recommended. Call
